Exploring City Evacuation Scenarios using a Multi-Agent System
Résumé
The increase in human exposure to natural hazards puts crisis management and its tools at the forefront of scientific research in the field of risk management. This article deals with population evacuations. This is a complex process to carry out, and the conduct of exercises is challenging due to the number of stakeholders involved. The development of new tools enables, on the other hand, to adopt a numerical approach. Thus, in this article, the simulation of a preventive evacuation of a medium-sized town (Alès) using a multi-agent system is presented. Several event scenarios are applied to the simulation. The results are then compared and put in perspective with the actual process.
