Vieillissement hygrothermique des composites thermoplastiques renforcés par des fibres de verre – Partie II. Rôle de la matrice et de l’interface fibre/matrice sur les mécanismes de vieillissement des composites

Abstract : A study in an aggressive environment of the properties of short glass fibre rein_如ced thermoplastic composites based on poly (ethylene terephthalate), poly(butylene terephthalate) and polyamide-6,6 is reported. The influence of the fibre/matrix inte1face on the composite behaviour in a moiety environment is especially studied hereby. Competitive phenomena may explain differences observed according with the nature of the fibre surface treatment. Among them these characteristics may be an intrinsic fragility of some chemical interfacial bondings, the hydrophilicity of some chemical groups, the presence of long macromolecular chains neighbouring the interface or of a transcristalline inte,facial area
