The aim of this work is to describe the methodology used in applying a Geographical Information System (GIS) to the operation of fire-fighters in the French Mediterranean area. The objectives of Geographical Information System Applied to Civil Security (SIGASC) are forest management for wildland fire prevention, specialized maps and also federation of organizations that work on Defense of Forests Against Fire (fire-fighters, National Forest Office, Agriculture and Forest Departmental Direction).
